BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE
Jack Manock – Senior Warden
This committee is responsible for major and minor repairs and improvements to all our church buildings and the beautification of our grounds. Volunteer help is always needed in the maintenance of our buildings and even though we have a
rounds maintenance crew that keep it all trimmed up we like the input of help and ideas there also. There are periodic work days for committee members and others to roll up their sleeves and apply personal talents to the tasks at hand.
Jerry Kinlaw – Parish Treasurer
The function of the Finance Committee is to advise the Vestry on financial matters. Normally, meetings are held at 11:00 am on the second Thursday of the month -- no more frequently that every other month except for budget reviews toward the end of the year.
Kathy Laing
The Altar Guild is a cheerful group of approximately 30 Parishioners serving on four teams. The purpose is to attend to everything pertaining to the Eucharist, baptisms, weddings, special services, etc. They oversee the purchasing and maintenance of linens and utensils related to the services. New volunteers are always appreciated. Training on the job is sufficient.
Steve Clinard
Acolytes are middle school and high school aged persons who assist with Sunday services. They are a critical part of each service assist with processions and communion.
Mary Thomson
This group of approximately 30 members is made up of volunteers who are trained to assist during the Sunday morning Eucharist by reading the lessons, leading the prayers of the people and serving the chalice. We are always willing to have more join us. Regular group training is offered, but individual instruction is available as well.
LAY EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS (LEM)

Participants are properly trained and licensed laypersons who take communion to sick or home-bound persons each first Sunday, or more often if indicated.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER (Prayers for Healing)

A layperson waits in back of church at the prayer desk, during communion at the 11:00 AM Service, to pray with individuals for healing in mind, body, or spirit or for someone close to you. Simply go to the prayer station either before or after receiving communion. "My house shall be called a house of prayer."

The Ushers and Greeters form an important welcoming ministry in the church and are open to anyone willing to serve. Greeters stand outside church before the services and greet those who are arriving as well as departing after the service, especially those unknown to them at Coffee Hour. Ushers hand out programs, take the offering and direct those going up for communion. They also help with seating at busy services, baptisms and funerals.
Oblationers bring the bread, wine and water to the altar during the Sunday service just before the offering is received. This is derived from the practice of the Church in the first and second centuries when deacons and selected lay persons collected the gifts from the congregation after the Liturgy of the Word and placed them on a table in front of the gathering. This ministry requires no special instruction and is especially suited to family units, although not restricted as such.

The St. Andrew's Prayer Chain is a group of dedicated volunteers ready to pray with you, for your family, and loved ones and your friends at any time. When someone requests prayers by calling the church office, the first person on the list is called to start the chain. That person then contacts the next person on the list, or continues calling down the list until they reach someone. You might want to have a prayer right away with the person called, or you may want to pray privately. Sometimes the needs are specific (surgery, sickness, accidents, death, etc.), and sometimes the needs are vague (my family needs prayer).
Gail Drewry
The Wedding Guild is responsible for assisting the Rector and/or other Clergy in the conduct of the wedding rehearsal and the wedding itself. The Guild members are well versed in traditions of the Episcopal Church and of this Parish in matters ceremonial. The Wedding Guild acts as director of all weddings. All weddings at St. Andrew’s must be cleared with our Rector.
