What We Believe
What we believe is centered around worship that engages the hearts and minds of this congregation. People of all ages and talents are united through the ancient and contemporary liturgy of The Episcopal Church.
We believe that in the gathered, worshipping community, the church is revealed as the Body of Christ, inspired and empowered by God’s Holy Spirit to do God’s work within our church family and in the world.
In a world clamoring for our attention, our prayers, songs, and the stories of scripture remind us of our basic identity in God, and call forth, praise and service.
RESPECT – We will respect the dignity of every human being. We celebrate our unity in Christ while honoring our differences, always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion.
COMPASSION – We will love our neighbors as ourselves. We believe as we move deeper in our faith, we will make a difference in our world.
INTEGRITY – We will proclaim by word and example the good news of Christ among ourselves and among those in the world around us.
JUSTICE – We will strive for justice and peace among all people. We believe transformation begins by strengthening our understanding of history and unjust structures of society in order to pursue peace and reconciliation.
INCLUSION – We will seek and serve Christ in all persons. We will extend the welcoming love of God to all.
STEWARDSHIP – We will sustain the gift of joy and wonder in all your works sharing what we have and who we are.
We will be and do this with God’s help.
