Children’s Ministry
The Children’s Ministry gathers in the Old Parish Hall each Sunday morning.
9:10 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Edu. Program Hour
10:15 – Children process into the church during the Peace, Children’s Church
For our youngest children, we focus on themes that foster a sense of love, relationship, and belonging—helping them understand they are part of a greater, loving community. As they grow, children develop their moral compass, and we support this growth through the teachings of Jesus and his parables, gently inviting them to reflect on kindness, compassion, and living with purpose.
Hands-on materials—whether they are models, figures, or artistic supplies—are prepared for every lesson. These materials allow children to fully immerse themselves, responding to the themes at their own pace. Free-choice activities and thoughtful projects create a space for them to explore and express their spiritual understanding. Occasionally, we will also take our learning outdoors to further connect with the beauty of God’s creation.
During the church service, children are guided into our special space, the Atrium. This is a place of stillness, reflection, and prayer, where children gather around a prayer table and participate in song and communal prayer. Afterward, they will rejoin their families to share in the Eucharist during the Peace.
On Sunday Mornings:
- We invite you to arrive with your child by 9:15 a.m., but we understand that each family has its own rhythm. Feel free to join us when you are able. We ask that you help us maintain our quiet space as you bring your child and sign them in.
- We encourage you to dress your child in clothing that allows them to fully engage in the work of the day, whether that’s art, hands-on materials, or outdoor exploration.
- If your child has specific needs or preferences, we welcome your insights. Your partnership in supporting your child’s experience ensures they can engage joyfully and meaningfully.
- Our space is always open to parents, please join us in respecting the calm, reflective atmosphere we aim to cultivate for the children.
- The Atrium is a sacred environment and is open to the children only during their time with us on Sundays. This space is intentionally preserved as a place for focused work, prayer, and peace.
Through these practices, we honor the dignity and spiritual depth of every child, creating an environment where they can freely grow in their relationship with God.
12 months- 4 years, “Frolic” Class, held in the Nursery
This year we will be using a wonderful program called “Frolic”. The children learn that God made them, God loves them, and they have a best friend in Jesus! This class meets in the nursery.
