Children's Sunday School

Sundays at 10 am:
Our family ministry at St. Andrew’s On-the-Sound provides a foundation for Christian Formation for every child. We offer small group classes for all ages, festivals, special events and community outreach opportunities throughout the year! Our goal is to introduce the Bible and support the spiritual connection every child has with God. By gathering together in intergenerational fellowship, children and adults alike form connections that strengthen faith and community.
12 months- 4 years, “Frolic” Class, held in the Nursery
This year we will be using a wonderful program called “Frolic”. The children learn that God made them, God loves them, and they have a best friend in Jesus! This class meets in the nursery.
K-2nd grade, “Godly Play”, located by the Parish Hall
Godly Play is a Montessori method of teaching Bible stories and Christian language in a way that enhances the child’s relationship with God. The children hear a story with beautifully crafted materials that enhance their understanding. They are also encouraged to wonder and explore the deeper meaning of the stories through art and play. This class meets in the Godly Play Room by the Parish Hall.
3rd-5th grade, “Wonder” Class, Held in the Edu. Hall
This year, we are introducing "Wonder" Class! We will embark on a shared journey through the gospel readings of the liturgical calendar, promoting family unity and spiritual growth. Through engaging, hands-on activities, games and opportunities to serve our community, children will gain curiosity and confidence in their spiritual exploration. This class meets in the Education Hall.
Sunday Nights, 5:00pm:
Episcopal Youth Community- 6th Grade-High School
EYC Night is back by popular demand!
We ask parents to stay on church property while their children are in Christian Formation classes.
First Informed Communion
At St. Andrew’s, baptized children are welcome to begin receiving communion as soon as they are able to show interest. In the Spring, we will offer a First “Informed” Communion Class. First Communion is another opportunity for the children to accept Jesus in their lives.
Throughout the Year
On the First Sunday of each month, we have a children’s service. Children are invited to the altar during the Great Thanksgiving to get a better look at what happens during Holy Communion.
